What we’re looking for: Poetry collections that are at least 150 poems in length as well as book-length manuscripts (50,000 - 110,000 words) that are close to being publishing-ready. We’re open to all genres and age categories except for the ones listed below. If you’re worried about your book being too short or too long, you can go here for a general idea of the target word counts we’re looking for in each genre. Of course, these vary based on the story and the writing, but books that are too long or are too short have a better chance, unfortunately, at ending up in the rejection pile.
Right now we’re especially interested in psychological and domestic thrillers, women’s fiction, and young adult of all genres but still welcome you to query if your project matches the guidelines above!
If you have any questions about how we operate, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Please also check out our list of FAQ’s for more information.
What we’re not looking for: Middle Grade, Picture Books, and Erotica. While we try and be as open as possible, these categories are not our strongest. Books with violence described in detail, such as sexual violence, rape, and abuse, will also not be considered.
What to do: With Query: TITLE in the subject, e-mail your query, first chapter, and 1-page synopsis all pasted in the body of the e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Attachments will not be opened and failure to follow submission instructions will result in automatic rejection.
What’s Next? If we’re interested in your full manuscript, you will hear back about your query within four weeks. If you don’t hear back, it’s safe to assume we’ve passed on your project at this time.
